Not sure...

I'm not sure if the purpose of the nativity is for lining up. What do you think?

A Cool Blog

You find weird stuff while you are bored.

This is a cool blog by a special education teacher who works with children who have autism.

Nothing else has been funny about jury duty so far.  I'm bored.

Blogging Jury Duty

Since I am going to be at jury duty all day, I'm going to post a few tidbits of things that have amused me during my day.

1.  When getting on the jury bus, I was asked to display my badge - because someone is going to try to sneak into jury duty?

2.  When entering the building, a sign was posted near the metal detector that said, "no weapons past this point."  Oh.  Good thing I left my glock at home.

An Endless Timesink - Facebook

Just wanted to take a moment to advocate for the endless timesink known as facebook. All the cool kids have a facebook page - don't you want one too?

You know you do.

OT - Not for the Faint of Heart

Ian loves his therapists. I love them too, although I'm not really a huge fan of the fingerpainting. Ian had a blast. :)

Happy Halloween (a little late)

Ian had a blast on Halloween, and loved running from house to house saying, "Trick or Treat." In case you're not sure, he was a monkey. It seems obvious, but on Halloween he was called everything from a puppy, to a mouse to a bear. He also got called she a lot. :)

For anyone who's watched Clerks II, picture number one is for you (even though it's horribly over exposed).

Sesame Place

Today we went to Sesame Place. Each year, the Variety Club hosts a day for children with special needs, and we were able to go free of charge. We stayed for a few hours. The first 1.5 hours went well -- he went on all the rides and had a blast. After about 2 hours he had had enough, so we made our way home (not before a quick stop in the gift shop to buy a stuffed "snuffy"). It was a good experience for him, and I do think he had fun. I thank the Variety Club for giving us the opportunity to go.

It's Fall

The weather is getting cooler. Halloween is quickly aproaching. Here are some updates on us.

Ian is 33.6 pounds and 37.5 inches tall. He wears a 4t shrit and 3t pants. He currently likes playing with his stuffed animals, cars, shopping cart, and trains. His favorite movies are Toy Story and Cars. He has lots of TV shows that he likes, and he gets more space on the DVR than we do! He's becoming a fun little boy.

He doesn't eat much, but his favorites are apples, milkshakes, mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. He also like oreos (who doesn't!). He's excited about Halloween and loves to look at the decorations. His next favorite thing to do is go to Barnes and Noble and play with the train table.

More pictures to come!

Crazy Clams

If you look at the bottom of this picture, you will see some of the hundreds of tiny clams that live at the beach in Ocean City. This little clams get washed up onto shore, and then burrow their way back into the sand. If you pick them up in your hand, with some sand, you can watch them burrow back down, which is sort of weird and cool at the same time.

Playing in the Water

Today was not a beach day. It was chilly and windy, so we went to the Cape May County Zoo. It was a smallish, but nice zoo. It wasn't overly crowded and it was very well done. They had a nice variety of animals to check out. After that, we took Ian to the boardwalk. He rode three rides, the train, the cars and the merry-go-round. Now we're packing up and getting ready to head back to reality. :(
